Panthers trainer Mason Chong joins the BCHL’s Surrey Eagles

The Port Moody Panthers are proud to announce that athletic trainer Mason Chong has signed with the British Columbia Hockey League’s Surrey Eagles to be their team trainer for the 2023-24 season.

Chong, a 24-year-old from Burnaby, B.C., joined the Panthers early on during the 2022-23 season to help as their athletic trainer alongside Gaëlle Bergeron. He was also the athletic trainer in the British Columbia Elite Hockey League’s U18 and U15 divisions for the Valley West Giants.

Bergeron, who was the athletic therapist for the Coquitlam Express of the BCHL for the last two seasons, also helped out the Panthers in 2022-23 but recently accepted a job in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. With the departure of Chong and Bergeron, the Panthers are now looking for an athletic trainer for 2023-24.

If you’re interested in being the Panthers’ athletic trainer for the upcoming season, please send your resume with a cover letter to media@portmoodypanthers.com.
